Philadelphia Eagles’ initial injury update will catch Chicago Bears’ attention

The Chicago Bears are entering Week 3 with plenty of injury questions, namely quarterback Caleb Williams. But they must now turn their attention to taking down the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles are walking into Week 3 pretty banged up themselves. Guard Landon Dickerson is on injured reserve with a knee injury while defensive end Jonathan Greenard has yet to play in 2026 due to a pectoral injury. The Bears will be paying close attention to their opponent’s injury list throughout the week.

On it, Chicago will find both running back Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert. Both players left Week 2 with varying degrees of injury. Their statuses entering Week 3 are both questionable.

Despite their injury problems, the Eagles are still a perfect 2-9. It’s going to take quite the effort to for the Bears to get back in the win column.

Barkley left the Eagles’ matchup with the Tennessee Titans due to a stinger. The Eagles are going to have him undergo an MRI on Monday. But the fact he was able to return in Week 2, even limited, has Philadelphia optimistic about his outlook, via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

“Saquon Barkley left the game with a stinger, you saw him walk into the locker room,” Rapoport said. “Came back with a neck roll. Was able to come back, that’s a very good sign. He’s going to have an MRI today, which is more cautious than anything else. Did not sound like a major injury.”

Goedert is also undergoing an MRI, but his looks a bit more precarious. He left in the secund quarter with his knee injury and didn’t return. The Eagles won’t make any final decisions until the results are in. But the tight end’s status is looking murky at best.

“Goedert was knocked out of the game with a knee injury,” Rapoport said. “He’s going to have an MRI today to determine the severity. But generally that means players end up missing time.”

Barkley and Goedert are both significant pieces of the Eagles’ offense. If either were to miss the game, it would certainly alter Philadelphia’s gameplan. The Bears must be prepared for numerous scenarios.
