Fever star Caitlin Clark makes Chiefs move

Caitlin Clark is a longtime Kansas City Chiefs fan and the Indiana Fever announced her move to pay tribute to the NFL team. The superstar guard’s first signature shoes will officially be released on Oct. 1, and she honored the Chiefs on Sunday.

Clark and the Fever faced the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They entered the matchup on a three-game winning streak but saw it snapped with a 93-77 defeat. The three-time All-Star spearheaded Indiana’s attack with a game-high 25 points, along with two rebounds and five assists. However, she struggled from the field, converting just 6-of-20 attempts, including 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Kelsey Mitchell backed her with 22 points and two assists, while Makayla Timpson added 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Mystics, on the other hand, were led by Kiki Iriafen’s 21 points and 13 rebounds. Shakira Austin supplied 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and Sonia Citron contributed 16 points, four rebounds and nine assists.

Indiana Fever: Caitlin Clark pays tribute to the Chiefs

Clark debuted the Chiefs colorway of her Nike Caitlin 1s against Washington. The pair features an upper with a red base that transitions into yellow towards the midsole and outsole, matching the team’s colors. Red laces run up the front, and yellow details are accenting the rear and sole area.

The 24-year-old has attended several Kansas City games at Arrowhead Stadium along with Travis Kelce’s wife, pop superstar Taylor Swift. They are good friends and have expressed support for each other on social media and interviews.

The Chiefs are 2-0 to start the NFL season and are coming off a win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Meanwhile, Clark and Indiana are fifth in the WNBA standings with a 27-15 record. They will earn homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs if they finish within the top four.
