Fever make exciting Kelsey Mitchell announcement

Kelsey Mitchell kept her historic run going on Tuesday. The Indiana Fever star guard recorded her 27th straight regular-season game with 20-plus points. Slam Magazine’s 264th edition also features her, and her team announced an exciting update on Wednesday.

The four-time All-Star produced 20 points, three rebounds and four assists in the 96-77 victory over the Minnesota Lynx. She backed Caitlin Clark’s game-high 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting, along with seven rebounds and nine assists. The win put the Fever back on track after losing to the Washington Lynx on Sunday.

Indiana will continue to rely heavily on her in the playoffs. It is one of the teams to look out for in the championship race. However, it won’t be easy as several other contenders also have their sights set on the ultimate prize.

Mitchell and Co. will play their final regular-season game of the year on Thursday. They will visit the Lynx at Target Center and the result will play a big role in the final seedings. The team has won three of four games and nine of its last nine assignments. Indian currently sits fifth in the standings with a 28-15 record and has secured a playoff spot. It reached the second round of the postseason last year after upsetting the Atlanta Dream. However, the Fever lost in the next round to the Las Vegas.

The good news is they are at full strength now and ready to make a lot of noise. Clark and Sophie Cunningham eagerly want to contribute to the franchise’s potential title run after injuries sidelined them in the 2025 playoffs.
