The Atlanta Dream are gearing up for Game 1 of their first-round playoff series on Sunday. The No. 4 seeds will host the No. 5-seeded Washington Mystics at State Farm Arena with their sights set on taking a 1-0 lead. They also announced good news about Angel Reese and her status for the game.
Reese exited their matchup against the New York Liberty on Wednesday in the second quarter. Sabrina Ionescu hit her on the face and she didn’t return. The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week finished with six points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in 17 minutes. Allisha Gray led Atlanta’s charge with 24 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals in the 83-65 victory.

The WNBA published its injury report for Game 1 of the playoffs. The report does not include Reese, and she is expected to suit up for the Dream at home on Sunday. Only Brionna Jones will miss the game for the team as she deals with a left leg injury.
Atlanta fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as the three-time All-Star, is set to play in her first postseason matchup. She has changed the game since she joined the team in April via a trade from the Chicago Sky. The three-time All-Star has broken some league records this year, including most rebounds in a game and in a season.
Reese and the Dream will enjoy homecourt advantage in the first round. Only Game 2 will take place at CareFirst Arena, giving them a strong chance to advance. However, it won’t be easy as the Mystics feature a formidable lineup. They are led by Reese’s Team USA teammates, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron, along with Shakira Austin, among others. Sunday’s game will tip-off at 7 p.m. ET.
