Ben Johnson addresses his behavior after Bears win

Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears shined on “Monday Night Football” by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7. The home win improved their record to 2-1 for the season and they did it with Caleb Williams sidelined. The second-year head coach addressed his postgame celebration in the locker room.

Case Keenum took over as the starting quarterback with Tyson Bagent also ruled out with a concussion. The Houston Cougars product completed 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns and a 110.8 passer rating. He maximized his weapons, with Kyle Monangai leading the rushing department, while Luther Burden III had the most receptions. The running back finished with 20 rushes for 84 yards and the wide receiver contributed seven catches for 61 yards and one touchdown.

Johnson entered the locker room with his players celebrating the big win. He showed off the stanky leg and hinted that the crip walk could be his next celebration.

“I walk in there and I had no idea that they were going to have a boom box ready and everyone was waiting for me,” Johnson said. “I didn’t know what to do. So I just defaulted to my old self a little bit. I’m glad I kept it PG rated… The crip walk might come out next. We’ll see.”

The 40-year-old has never been shy to show emotions during and after games. He has also built a strong bond with his players and coaching staff on and off the field. Johnson has received a lot of praise for guiding the team to victory on Monday despite playing shorthanded.

Next up for the Bears is another home matchup in Week 4. They will host the New York Jets with a chance to start a winning streak. Securing a 3-1 record is crucial as Chicago will have a two-game road trip after.
