Indiana Fever react to what Caitlin Clark said after Game 2 win

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever refused to see their season end in Game 2 on Tuesday. They defeated the Las Vegas Aces 99-89 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to extend their first-round series to a Game 3. The star guard also delivered some strong words about their victory.

Clark led all Indiana scorers with 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. She added seven rebounds, a career playoff-high 15 assists and was a +15 on the night. Kelsey Mitchell added 26 points, while Aliyah Boston produced 22 points, four rebounds and five assists.

The Fever entered the matchup coming off a 102-85 loss in Game 1. Clark struggled from the field, converting just 6-of-17 attempts, and finished with 15 points and 10 assists.

Meanwhile, the Aces were led by Jackie Young’s game-high 31 points built on four three-pointers. She also registered four rebounds, five assists and shot 13-of-13 from the free-throw line. A’ja Wilson backed her with 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Fever posts Caitlin Clark’s postgame comments

Clark highlighted the team’s winning mindset in Game 2 during her postgame availability. She and her teammates played with a chip on their shoulders and gave it their all to keep their championship quest alive.

“I think we had the mentality (that) this was one we were going to win no matter what,” Clark said.

The Fever added their reaction in the caption.

Clark and Co. will only have one day to prepare for the winner-take-all game. They will visit the defending champions again at Michelob Ultra Arena, with Aces fans expected to fill the venue. However, the Fever know the environment waiting for them and have momentum on their side. Thursday’s winner will advance to the next round to take on either the No. 2 Golden State Valkyries or the No. 7 Dallas Wings.
