Another Boring Trailer for Ben Affleck’s ‘Animals’ Kidnapping Thriller

“In a crisis, we discover who we are and what’s important to us.” Netflix has revealed the second & final official trailer for the film Animals directed by and starring Ben Affleck, his next feature after directing Air in 2024. This film is opening this week in October – it will be streaming on Netflix and available in some theaters as well. When their son is kidnapped, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife find themselves drawn into a web of deception. As they scramble to raise the large ransom payment, they’re forced to make choices that could tear their world apart. “How far would you go to protect your family? Who can you trust?” In Animals, Los Angeles mayoral candidate Mark Kimball (Ben Affleck) faces those very questions. When he receives an ominous phone call, Mark & his wife Abigail scramble to respond to a threat that could upend their carefully constructed life. The ensemble cast features Ben Affleck & Kerry Washington, along with Gillian Anderson, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher, Christopher Woodley, Matt Gerald, Jacob Estrada, Steven Yeun, and Luis Gerardo Méndez. As much as they are trying to hype up this intensely emotional remake of High and Low, it looks instantly forgettable and so bland. I doubt Affleck has anything new to say or add to this kidnapping story, and nothing in this footage makes it look like this is worth a watch. Oh well. // Continue Reading ›
