Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will draw the full attention of any defense he plays. His ability to escape the pocket and make big plays is unlike most other QBs in the NFL.
Now another week removed from his hamstring strain, Williams will be even healthier for the Week 8 Monday Night Football clash against the Seattle Seahawks. He’ll enter battle having completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards, five touchdowns and an interception.
With the Bears at 5-2 and Seahawks at 4-3, this will be a crucial game for playoff positioning. Furthermore, playing in primetime will give either side an opportunity to prove why their Super Bowl hopes are legit.
Actually earning a win though will be no easy task. Williams is well aware of the challenge in front of him.

Chicago’s quarterback bluntly stated that Seattle have the best defense in the NFL, via CHGO. The numbers back up his claim, as the Seahawks enter Week 8 leading the NFL by allowing 233.9 yards per game.
“Obviously that’s the best defense in football right now,” Williams said. “States wise, players and scheme. It’s going to be fun for us. It’s going to be a challenge and we accept that. We got to go out there and execute. We got to do our part. Focus on the details, our fundamentals, our foundation of what we’re built on, our identity.”
While the stats might back him up, Minnesota Vikings fans are sure to take offense to Williams’ statement. They may be second in total defense, but Brian Flores’ unit has been a dominant force all 2026. Minnesota’s defense is the prime reason the franchise is 6-0. One of those wins saw the Vikings hold Williams – prior to his hamstring injury – and the Bears to just three points.
Come Week 18, Williams will have a chance to prove he can slay the Vikings. But for now, his focus remains on continuing the Bears winning streak and finding a way to defeat the defending Super Bowl champions.
