It’s officially safe to say that the Chicago Bears are indeed a top Super Bowl contender in the NFL. Following week 8’s dominating victory over the defending Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks, the Chicago Bears are officially the hottest team in the NFL

Ben Johnson’s Bears dominated the Seahawks in all three phases of the game, winning 34-17. This is Chicago’s third straight primetime victory as well.
The hype in Chicago is real, as the Bears have yet again proved to everyone that they are legit.
Bleacher Report’s team of NFL analysts moved the Bears up in their official power rankings going into Week 9.

The Bears moved up one spot in this week’s power rankings, ranking fourth overall in the NFL. The team is ranked behind Denver, San Francisco, and Buffalo.
Bleacher Report’s Mo Moton believes that the Bears officially have a Super Bowl contending team, following the trade for All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
“We know the Bears’ offense is electric, but with Simmons in the fold, their defense will close games. Chicago plays in the NFC North, a division with the 5-3 Green Bay Packers at the bottom, but this club is built for a Super Bowl run. The Bears should be in the top five in these power rankings for the rest of the season.”
I completely agree with Moton. The addition of Simmons changed the defense completely. The star defensive tackle was immediate gamechanger in his Bears debut, tying the team lead in tackles and getting a sack.
Simmons’ pressures allowed for players like Montez Sweat to make an impact as well.
Despite their still being clear issues within the secondary, the Bears’ pass rush looked legit for the first time in years. The Bears finally might have a complete team on both sides of the ball moving forward following the addition of Simmons.
The time is officially now for the Bears, the Super Bowl window is finally here.
