After Monday night’s victory over the Seahawks, the Chicago Bears have moved to 6-2.
Caleb Williams led Chicago to another impressive victory, this time on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions. 34-17 was the final score, as the Bears took the lead after their first drive and never looked back. The addition of Jeffery Simmons proved to be massive, as he had a fantastic debut, leading the defensive charge.
Williams did his job once again, throwing for 247 yards and one touchdown, as well as protecting the ball. He was sacked only one time all night as the offensive line came up big in the victory.
One insane stat that could help Williams’ MVP case is that the Bears have not trailed since he returned to the starting lineup. They’ve led for 158:33 of 180:00 minutes, an incredible feat when you consider their opponents.
Since Caleb Williams has returned from injury, the Chicago Bears have led for 158:33 of 180 minutes.
They have only been tied at 0-0.
They have never trailed.

Since returning, the Bears have also scored 30 points in all three games. The offense runs through the third-year QB, and he’s making quite the case for MVP. If he hadn’t missed a few games, who knows what his stat line would look like?

It’s unlikely that Caleb Williams walks away with MVP this year due to the competition he has. According to DraftKings, he’s currently listed at +500 to win the award, trailing Josh Allen, Brock Purdy, and Joe Burrow.
It’s certainly possible if he has a few massive games, but the Bears have a balanced offensive attack, and Williams may not get the chance to put up the numbers the other guys do. Thus far, Williams has thrown just six touchdowns to one interception. Considering Joe Burrow had six total TD’s this past week, he’s got some catching up to do.
Since returning from injury, he’s been nearly perfect. And his team hasn’t trailed. There’s not much more you can ask for from a quarterback, and it’s clear his leadership qualities are emerging in the process.
Caleb Williams since returning from hamstring injury:
3-0 record
860 passing yards
4 TD, 0 INT

We’ll see if he has any crazy games in the next few weeks, but it’s just unlikely due to Ben Johnson’s offense. The rushing attack is potent enough that they don’t need to lean on Williams.
However, winning is everything. The Bears keep winning; those odds will get even juicier for Caleb.
