Boston is coming off a strong 2026 campaign. She averaged 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks in 40 regular-season games. The 24-year-old was a big reason why her team qualified for the playoffs with a 28-16 record and secured the No. 6 seed.

Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston discusses personal decision

Boston stepped away from her podcast with WNBA legend Candace Parker for a few weeks after surgery. However, she already returned on Wednesday and shared why she decided to do so.

“I returned,” Boston said. “I am better, actually, (and) I am much better. We’re making it… We had a nice successful surgery on that, on that meniscus repair. So quite nice. It took me a while. I couldn’t just come back on here, I had to recover.”

Arthroscopic surgeries usually take four to six months of rehab for athletes to regain their old form. Boston will skip the next Unrivaled season to focus on her recovery and make sure she’ll be ready for opening night with Indiana.

The Fever will continue to rely heavily on Boston in 2027. She provides them with a strong interior presence on both ends of the floor. Boston can score in different ways and does not back down from the challenge of guarding opposing teams’ best centers.
