Chicago Bears

It’s official – the Chicago Bears are one of the teams to beat in the NFC. After a convincing 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, the Bears moved to 6-2 and have surged in the power rankings. Ever since the return of Caleb Williams, the Bears have yet to trail in a game.

After years of mediocrity and disappointment, Chicago finally has a competent football team. The hire of Ben Johnson a few years ago has brought a playoff victory, a franchise quarterback, and an entirely new identity.

Fans across the league believe this as well. The victory in Seattle was on Monday Night Football, and it helped ESPN reach a feat it hasn’t reached in years. It was the most-watched ESPN-only game since November of 2019.

Quite the difference a few years can make.

Credit to GM Ryan Poles for making the right moves on draft night, as plenty of their talent is young and under team control for years to come. He’s nailed it in free agency as well, continuing to bring in players who fit the culture and play style.

The Chicago Bears will have more opportunities to make primetime history in the coming weeks

For a big-market team, the Bears have never struggled to get primetime slots, even when they weren’t that good. However, at times, the product on the field wasn’t one fans wanted the entire country to see.

That has since changed. People are tuning in to watch the Caleb Williams show. And now, with the addition of Jeffery Simmons and potentially more help on the way, the defense has begun to turn heads as well.

It’s been fun to watch, to say the least. Williams has evolved into a leader as well, and you can tell on and off the field.

They’ll have multiple other opportunities to prove themselves on primetime as the season continues. The Bears host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday night before they hit the bye week. They play the Lions on Thanksgiving, and in late December, they’ll travel to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the Bills on Saturday Night. After that, on Christmas Day, they’ll host the Packers on Netflix.

Exciting times in Chicago when talking about this Bears team. If they can maintain the success they’ve had early on, the playoff push could soon turn into a Super Bowl push.
