Jaylon Johnson’s strong statement gets Chicago Bears fans fired up

Jaylon Johnson’s 2025 season with the Chicago Bears did not go according to plan.

The former Utah Utes cornerback had a breakout campaign in 2023, leading to his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro Second Team nods. He followed it up with another strong season in 2024, earning a second consecutive Pro Bowl call-up.

Injuries derailed Johnson’s sixth year with the Bears last season, though. He was limited to just seven games due to groin and core muscle injuries. The star CB registered just 17 combined tackles (15 solo) during that stretch, along with one interception and two passes defended.

Despite his down year, Johnson is adamant that he remains one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He is determined to prove just that this coming season.

Chicago Bears fans react to Jaylon Johnson’s declaration

Most NFL fans are easy to forget. For some, Johnson’s injury-riddled 2025 season was enough to remove him from the upper echelon of NFL cornerbacks.

Johnson is well aware of this. In fact, this has lit a fire under him as the 27-year-old is set to prove his doubters wrong.

“I’m just looking forward to this season and really just reminding a lot of people who I am and I’m one of the best guys to play this game,” Johnson said, via NBC Chicago. “So I’m just looking forward to that opportunity.”

Johnson’s strong declaration has gotten Bears fans fired up.

“MAKE THEM REMEMBER JJ ” a comment on Instagram read.

“H1M!! ” another said.

“Let em know Jaylon,” wrote a supporter.

“He’s a top 3 corner in the league his coverage is insane,” a reaction read.

“Please remind em man it’s starting to get disrespectful,” demanded another.

“Never forgot,” a fan posted.

Johnson is expected to start as the Bears’ primary outside cornerback in 2026. So long as he remains healthy, he will anchor Chicago’s secondary alongside offseason free-agent safety recruit Coby Bryant and rookie safety Dillon Thieneman.

Johnson is confident he remains one of the best CBs in the NFL, and he will do everything he can this season to prove it.
