After finishing 31-51 in the 2025-26 NBA season, the Chicago Bulls were awarded the fourth overall pick in the draft through the lottery. This gave them the opportunity to do just about anything they wanted as they looked to rebuild their roster. With plenty of young talent and a new head coach, the Bulls decided to grab one of the most highly coveted players in the draft, forward Caleb Wilson.
The 19-year-old still is growing and developing, but already was one of the best players in what many considered to be one of the deepest NBA draft classes in years. And his comments after the draft will have fans for excited for what he is bringing to the table.

On Thursday, the day after the 2026 NBA Draft, Wilson was a guest on ESPN’s “First Take” with Stephen A. Smith. During his segment, he explained the mindset he is going to be bringing to the Bulls as a rookie:
“[Chicago Bulls] are getting a dawg man. It’s that simple. I’m going to do whatever it takes to win.”

“They’re getting a dawg, man. It’s that simple. I’m going to do whatever it takes to win and I’m going to play as hard as I can and create opportunities for others. More than anyone else that’s going to be playing in the NBA, I’m going work hard and I’m going to get it done. I’m going to be a leader, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to win. It’s just that simple.”
In his only collegiate season at North Carolina, Wilson averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He is not a very good three-point shooter, but can still develop a shot that will take him to the next level in the NBA.
