Fever player leaves comment on DeWanna Bonner’s post amid controversy

DeWanna Bonner is not exactly the most well-loved player among Indiana Fever fans these days. This is after the Phoenix Mercury veteran was at the center of an in-game altercation involving both Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham.

It all started when Bonner and Clark got tied up while fighting for positioning during the June 22 matchup between the Fever and Mercury. Clark received a technical foul for taunting, prompting Cunningham’s intervention. Cunningham started pointing at Bonner, which infuriated the Phoenix forward. Both Cunningham and Bonner also got techs for the scuffle.

It is important to note the history between Bonner and the Fever. She was with the team last season, but played only nine games. She left the squad for personal reasons, ultimately leading to the Fever waiving her contract. Bonner signed with the Mercury shortly after.

Indiana Fever: Makayla Timpson comments on DeWanna Bonner’s post

One player who seems intent on staying out of the drama is Fever forward-center Makayla Timpson. The second-year player dropped a friendly comment on Bonner’s post on Sunday.

Timpson and Bonner joined the Fever at the same time last season. The former was a rookie, selected as the 19th overall pick in the draft. Bonner, on the other hand, was a big-name free-agent signing for Indiana.

While some Fever players may have some beef with Bonner, Timpson does not appear to have any ill will against her former teammate.

Timpson has made 18 appearances for Indiana this season. The 6-foot-2 frontcourt player is averaging 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.0 minutes off the bench.
