Stephanie White issues stern reminder to Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever have been on a roll of late, and head coach Stephanie White knows it.

The Fever have stacked up two straight wins in back-to-back home games. They fought off the Seattle Storm in a tightly contested affair on Friday, escaping with a 110-107 victory. Indiana then proceeded to pour it on against the New York Liberty on Saturday, blowing out Breanna Stewart and Co., 108-88.

The Fever improved to 16-10 after this recent run. They now have one game left before the WNBA All-Star break.

Indiana will host the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. White wants to make sure that her players keep their heads in the game ahead of the upcoming mid-season hiatus.

Stephanie White wants Indiana Fever players to remain focused

White spoke to reporters on Monday during their first practice ahead of the Sun game. When asked about her message to her team following their back-to-back success, the veteran bench boss issued a stern reminder for her players.

“We’ve got to be locked in,” she stated. “I mean, we’ve got to be locked in. We’ve got to stay locked in.

“It’s about us, and it’s about our journey. Certainly reminding our players that we’re not on All-Star break until after that game. Making sure that we stay locked in.”

White said the phrase “locked in” four times in the span of less than a minute. This should make it abundantly clear as to what type of mindset she wants her players to have in these last few days before the break.

The Fever have a lot of momentum on their side right now, and the last thing they want is for this to be cut short. Entering the break on a three-game winning streak has a much better ring to it than ending the first part of the season with a loss.
