Fever coach Stephanie White ‘super excited’ over Caitlin Clark development

Caitlin Clark grabbed headlines on Wednesday ahead of the Indiana Fever’s home game against the Connecticut Sun. This is after the three-time All-Star was announced as the cover athlete for the Deluxe Edition of NBA 2K27.

This is an incredible development for Clark in just her third year in the WNBA, and Fever head coach Stephanie White could not be more excited. While the veteran bench boss isn’t exactly the most avid gamer, she revealed that her sons are surely going to be pre-ordering the Clark edition of the game, which is set for worldwide release on Sept. 4

White expressed her enthusiasm during her pregame press conference on Wednesday.

“Yeah, super excited,” she said. “She’s earned this opportunity. When you think about the Mount Rushmore of every sport, it’s to be on the cover of 2K, or to be on the cover of Madden, or to be on the cover of whatever. For her to be able to do that is pretty incredible.”

Caitlin Clark leads Indiana Fever to victory vs. Connecticut Sun

Clark marked her big day with another strong performance on the court, leading the Fever to a lopsided 123-88 win over the Sun.

The 6-foot guard went off for a game-high 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting, to go along with two rebounds, 11 assists, a steal, one block and five three-pointers in 27 minutes per game.

At this point, it would be safe to say that Clark has already overcome the back injury that previously kept her out for three games. Coach White also removed her minutes restriction on Wednesday for the first time since her injury spell.

Clark is now a full go for Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game. She was forced to pull out of last year’s festivities due to injury, so the former Rookie of the Year should be ready to make amends this time around.
