Kelsey Mitchell reveals where things stand with fellow Fever star Caitlin Clark

Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark are playing at a high level this season. The Indiana Fever superstar backcourt have mutual respect and played a significant role in helping the team turn things around. However, many are pitting them against each other, believing that they are limiting one another in showing their true potential.

Mitchell has recorded 20-plus points in 17 consecutive games. The 30-year-old is three games away from tying the all-time record set by A’ja Wilson. She is also one of the frontrunners for the WNBA MVP award, averaging 24.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Meanwhile, Clark has impressed as well. She produces 21.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 8.2 assists despite battling a lingering back issue. The 2024 No. 1 pick continues to receive probable tags on injury reports but plays through it.

Indiana Fever: Kelsey Mitchell opens up about relationship with Caitlin Clark

Mitchell shared how her relationship with Clark has strengthened this season. She highlighted the amount of time they’ve spent together, allowing them to know each other better.

“I just think that as you kind of like have experiences with each other, we sit on a plane together, walk on a bus together and you walk in a hotel together,” Mitchell said. “You’re constantly connected… I think that the more you get to know who a person is, what they bring to the table and you don’t judge. I think the one thing about CC and her career is that people have already been judging her. She’s just really getting started. My job is to not be that person.”

Mitchell, Clark, and the Fever started the season 5-5 but have now achieved a 21-12 record. They will next face the Dallas Wings on Friday with a chance to make it three consecutive victories. The team is peaking at the right time and is in a good position to secure a top three seed for the playoffs.
