Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham did not have the best week. She was under the weather, which forced her to miss two team practices.
This was a concerning development for Cunningham and the Fever ahead of their next game. Indiana has seven days off between games, but Cunningham’s illness raised questions about her status for Sunday’s road matchup against the Las Vegas Aces.
The 29-year-old returned to practice on Friday. She still looked a bit sick, but she was healthy enough to rejoin her teammates on the practice court after being forced to sit out earlier in the week.
Cunningham was all smiles as she boarded the team plane for their upcoming West Coast trip. The Fever play four straight games on the road, starting with Sunday’s marquee matchup against the defending champions.

The Fever got some good news on the Cunningham front on Saturday. Despite her recent health concern, the 6-foot-1 guard seems like she will be good to go against the Aces.
Indiana submitted its official injury report for Sunday’s contest, and Cunningham was not on it. The only player on the list is Caitlin Clark, who will miss her second straight game due to a back injury.

Barring any unforeseen setbacks, Cunningham should be available for Sunday’s game in Vegas.
This is a crucial development for the Fever, who will once again be without their cornerstone superstar. Clark remains out, but is optimistic about a return during this four-game road trip.
Cunningham could get some extra run against the Aces with Clark out. The eight-year veteran is currently averaging 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.7 triples in 23.0 minutes per contest.
