Chicago Bears star Caleb Williams gifted Pope Leo with a signed jersey to celebrate the 4th of July and America’s 250th Independence Day.
Williams made a big gesture on the 4th of July by giving Pope Leo a signed jersey through the US Ambassador to the Holy See, Brian Burch.
This awesome moment was posted on Instagram by the Caleb Cares Foundation on Instagram.
“We are celebrating the 4th of July in a big way!” the caption wrote. “The US Ambassador to the Holy See, Brian Burch, presented Pope Leo with an autographed #18 jersey today.”
The former No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was happy and hyped to see this and shared it on his Instagram story.
“Shoutout 250th. And shoutout DAAAA POPEEEE,” he wrote. He also added the abbreviation “AMDG,” which is a Latin phrase, “Ad maiorem Dei gloriam,” and directly translates to “For the greater glory of God.”
Pope Leo is a big supporter of the sports in Chicago, including the Bears, as he was born in the city. He’s also a big supporter of the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball.
Last season, Chicago finished with an 11-6 record to secure a spot in the playoffs. But they were eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round, which ended their season.
Williams and Co. intend to go over the hump this upcoming season, hoping to secure a Super Bowl berth.
In 2025, the second-year quarterback delivered 3,942 passing yards with 27 touchdowns against seven interceptions. This was an improvement from his rookie season, where Williams recorded 3,541 passing yards with 20 touchdowns against six interceptions.
If Williams takes another leap this season, he could finally be selected to the Pro Bowl. Last season, he missed out on the final roster last year despite dominating the fan votes.
