Caleb Williams had an incredible 2025 campaign for the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old quarterback completed 33-of-568 passes for 4,809 yards, 27 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
Williams led the Bears to an 11-6 record, en route to claiming the NFC North title. Chicago defeated the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round before suffering a heartbreaking season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
Williams aims to lead Chicago to new heights in 2026, and the Bears have surrounded him with a formidable squad for the upcoming campaign. The biggest addition to the offensive line is center Garrett Bradbury, who is expected to fill the void following Drew Dalman’s unexpected retirement.

The Bears had noticeable shortcomings on defense last year, and their offseason moves aimed to address these issues. They brought in Super Bowl champion safety Coby Bryant to lead the secondary.
Chicago also used the draft to add another highly touted safety in Dillon Thieneman. The Bears used their 25th overall pick to scoop up the former Purdue and Oregon star.
On Monday, Thieneman took to social media to share an update on his new life with the Bears. The 21-year-old posted photos of himself in Bears gear, some action shots from practice and a snap of his contract signing with his parents.
Williams caught wind of the rookie’s post and decided to respond. Williams shared Thieneman’s post in his Instagram story along with a two-word message.
“Yea rook,” wrote the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.
Williams’ message was short and sweet, but it is his way of showing his support to the young safety.
Thieneman and Williams will not work directly on the field during games, but there’s no denying that the rookie will play a pivotal role for the Bears’ secondary this coming season.
Williams will lead Chicago’s offense, but he can only do so much. The defense will need to step it up, too, and Thieneman could prove to be a game-changer in 2026.
