Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever came up short on Saturday against the Atlanta Dream.
The Fever suffered their second loss against the Dream in three days. On Thursday, Indiana failed to defend its home court, falling 108-101 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It was the same result in Atlanta on Saturday as the Dream secured a 113-96 win at State Farm Arena.
Mitchell struggled with her shot in this one. She put up 16 points but shot just 5-of-13 from the field. The three-time WNBA All-Star added three rebounds, three assists and two triples in 32 minutes of action.
It wasn’t enough for the Fever, who have now dropped to 9-7 on the season.

Despite the loss, Mitchell still managed to come up with one of the game’s biggest highlight plays. This is after the 5-foot-8 guard busted out a nasty crossover against Dream guard Te-Hina Paopao.
Mitchell’s smooth behind-the-back dribble dropped her defender, who twisted not just one, but both her ankles in the play. Naturally, the Fever star knocked down the wide-open triple to finish off the highlight reel.
Mitchell has been a bright spot for the Fever this season. She’s played in all 16 games thus far and is averaging 20.8 points on 48.0% shooting. The All-WNBA guard has also registered 1.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists, while knocking down 2.1 three-pointers per game on a 35.9% clip.
Mitchell will look to keep her foot on the gas and deliver a more efficient performance in Indiana’s next game. This comes in the form of a home matchup against the Phoenix Mercury on Monday.
The Fever are in the midst of another slump, and they will need to get back on the win column against the 5-12 Mercury.
