The 2026 Chicago White Sox have proven to be one of the most resilient teams in baseball. Not only have they far exceeded expectations in the win column, but they have built a comfortable lead in the American League Central and would enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed if the season ended today, earning a first-round bye into the Division Series.
More importantly, this is a team that simply refuses to quit. Friday night’s matchup against the New York Mets was a perfect example. After falling behind by four runs, the White Sox rallied with back-to-back-to-back home runs before Jake Rogers delivered the walk-off winning long ball, capping their largest comeback of the season with an exclamation point.

Despite trailing 4-0 entering the sixth inning, the White Sox refused to go quietly. Miguel Vargas, Randal Grichuk, and Colson Montgomery launched three consecutive home runs to tie the game, with Vargas’s being a two-run blast. Then, in the ninth, recently acquired catcher Jake Rogers, playing for his fourth team in less than a month, delivered the game-winning home run to complete the 6-4 comeback victory.
