Thursday was a big day for Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever superstar’s first signature shoes was released worldwide, and she and the team faced the Las Vegas Aces in Game 3 of their first-round series. Nike announced an update about the Caitlin 1s’ launch.

Clark has worn different colorways since she debuted the Racer Blues in June. Several silhouettes will be available in the coming weeks, leaving fans around the world even more excited. Nike went all-in with their promotions ahead of the worldwide release, including multiple advertisements and social media campaign.

Clark’s fans have been vocal for the past few years about her having a own signature line. The wait is over and they responded by selling out the pairs quickly.

Indiana Fever: Caitlin Clark’s shoe release is largest women’s shoe launch in Nike history

Nike CEO Elliott Hill announced that the Caitlin 1s’ launch is the largest in Nike history among women’s shoes. Clark is without a doubt one of the WNBA’ biggest stars and fans anticipated the release for months.

“Hill also said the Caitlin 1 launch was the largest women’s signature-shoe introduction in the brand’s history, with the new sneaker launching in 5,000 stores,” CNBC’s Jessica Golden wrote. “He said that was “twice the average for a Nike basketball signature shoe, supported by our largest Nike product campaign for the holiday season.”

Meanwhile, Game 3 didn’t according to plan for Clark and Indiana. The Aces eliminated them with a 94-83 loss and sent them home. The three-time All-Star produced 18 points and four assists but struggled from the field, shooting 6-of-18. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 23 points, two rebounds and two assists, although she only converted 7-of-23 shots. Aliyah Boston added 19 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.

A’ja Wilson spearheaded Las Vegas’ attack with a game-high 36 points, along with 10 rebounds. Chelsea Gray contributed 23 points, four rebounds and five assists. The Aces will advance to the next round to face either the Golden State Valkyries or the Dallas Wings.
