Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is still nursing a nagging back injury. She has been dealing with this issue for pretty much the whole season, with the Fever constantly listing her on the injury report for every game.

Clark was forced to sit out on May 20 against the Portland Fire because of this back problem. She missed her second game of the season on Saturday against the Los Angeles Sparks due to the same injury.

The 24-year-old has not been able to practice with the team this week. Head coach Stephanie White told reporters on Wednesday that Clark has been limited to individual work with the coaching staff.

Fever star Caitlin Clark named All-Star Game starter

Clark received some good news on Thursday, though. This comes in the form of the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout being named an All-Star starter for a third consecutive year.

The WNBA announced the 10 starters for the upcoming All-Star Game on July 25, and Clark was among the top vote-getters. She is joined by teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, who are now both four-time All-Stars.

This development comes with a cash bonus for Clark. As reported by Spotrac on X, the Fever superstar has earned $15,000 from the WNBA for being an All-Star Game participant. All 22 All-Stars (10 starters and 22 reserves) will also get the same bonus.

Clark may also want to aim for her first WNBA All-Star MVP title. That honor comes with a cool $20,000 bonus.

Chicago will host this year’s festivities at United Center. It will be a quick trip for Clark and Co. from Indianapolis to the Windy City.

As for Clark’s injury, there is currently no guarantee that she will be back on the court for Indiana’s next game. She appears to be making progress. However, it is unclear if she will be healthy enough to return on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces.
