Bears rookie Dillon Thieneman’s heartfelt message to girlfriend Greta Segert

Dillon Thieneman is preparing for his NFL rookie season. The Chicago Bears selected him at No. 25 this year to plug their hole at safety. They lost three of their key defensive ends in free agency and entered the draft with their eyes set on addressing it.
The former Oregon Ducks star enjoyed a strong 2025 season. He recorded 96 combined tackles, one sack, two interceptions and five pass deflections.
Thieneman earned a first-team All-American selection for his efforts and established himself as one of the best at his position. He will play opposite Coby Bryant, whom the team signed this offseason. The 27-year-old is coming off a Super Bowl-winning campaign with the Seattle Seahawks.

Thieneman celebrated the birthday of his girlfriend, Great Segert, with a message on his Instagram story. He kept it simple but expressed his love for her.
“Happy birthday, @greta_segert Love you 
,” Thieneman wrote.
The couple has maintained a long-term relationship since their days at Purdue University. Thieneman starred for the Boilermakers over two seasons before moving to Oregon. Segert was part of the Purdue Coed Cheerleading team. She became a fixture on the sidelines supporting Thieneman during his standout freshman and sophomore All-American campaigns.
They continue to navigate their respective careers, with Segert graduating with a Bachelor of Science in User Experience Design. She is building her career in UX/UI design, while Thieneman aims to make an impact for the Bears as a rookie.
Chicago silenced its critics last season by winning the NFC North and reaching the Divisional Round. Caleb Williams shone, leading the team and showcasing his composure under pressure.
The team aims to surpass its achievements last year despite facing the toughest schedule in the NFL. It will open its 2026 regular season on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
