Caitlin Clark announces update 1 day before WNBA playoffs

Caitlin Clark continues to grab headlines for the upcoming release of her first signature shoes. The Indiana Fever superstar has debuted different colorways of her Nike Caitlin 1s in the WNBA and during the FIBA World Cup. She announced an update about them on Saturday, one day before the start of the playoffs.

Clark and Fever secured the No. 6 seed with a 28-16 regular-season record. They will face the No. 3-seeded Las Vegas Aces in the first round. The defending champions own homecourt advantage, with Games 1 and 3, if necessary, set to be played at Michelob Ultra Arena.

Indiana did not finish the regular season strong as it lost two of its last three games. Clark struggled mightily in the finale on Thursday against the Minnesota Lynx. She recorded just two points on 1-of-12 shooting, along with four rebounds and three assists in the 86-66 defeat. However, the Fever have a formidable lineup led by Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, and are ready to pull of an upset.

Indiana Fever: Caitlin Clark debuts new colorway of her signature shoes

Clark wore the Berry Fade colorway of her Nike Caitlin 1s on Saturday. It features a low-top silhouette with an asymmetrical color arrangement. The left transitions from a purple heel to an orange and pink toe, while the right has an inverted gradient. Indiana posted pictures of the three-time All-Star wearing them on Instagram.

The 24-year-old dropped a reaction, expressing her excitement for the new silhouette. “Jeez these r just diabolical ,” Clark commented, which has since received almost 900 likes.

The Fever and Aces will play Game 1 of the first-round series on Sunday. Clark and Co. enter it as the underdogs but have their sights set on beating the odds. Game 2 is scheduled two days later at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
