A four-time Pro Bowl and reigning First-team All-Pro, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons has become one of the NFL’s elite. But he hasn’t come close to winning a Super Bowl title.
In his rookie season, the Tennessee Titans made the AFC Championship Game, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs. They’d make the playoffs the next two years as well. But Tennessee has been in a playoff drought since 2021. The Titans have won seven games total over their last three years.
On the flip side, the Chicago Bears are on the rise. The franchise ended their own four-year playoff drought in 2025, winning the NFC North. Now, 5-2, the Bears are committed to going on an even deeper playoff run.
Acquiring Simmons was a testament to Chicago’s belief in their ability to compete. It hasn’t taken the defensive tackle long to buy into that mentality.

A midseason trade will always lead to a bit of chaos. But Simmons is well aware of the Super Bowl intentions behind the deal. The All-Pro has now shifted his focus and is locked in on helping the Bears reach new heights, via the team’s X, formerly Twitter account.
“I’m excited to help this team compete for a championship,” Simmons said.
“The trade told me everything I needed to know,” he continued. “Especially from the value, giving away two first-round picks. This team believes in what they have here. They want it right now. My game, my passion, my energy, my leadership, I can only help this team even more than what its got.
“This is a great locker room, from quarterback all the way down. My job is to come in here and try to be nothing more than myself. I’m excited to do my part to help this team to its goal.”

With nine quarterback hits (team lead) and four sacks (tied for team lead), no one is doubting Simmons’ ability to make an immediate impact. Still, the expectations on his shoulders will be lofty with how much it cost to acquire him.
Simmons isn’t backing down from that challenge. He clearly sees the vision Chicago is building. The All-Pro defensive tackle is willing to do whatever it takes to help get the Bears on top.
